Bia Lover Trader Application

The center piece of the 5th Bia Lover Festival will once again be the Producers Market to be held in Athenry Park in front of the medieval Athenry Castle.

Bia Lover has a total of 60 exhibitor stalls with at least 25 places reserved for Galway producers/traders; the remainder are available to quality regional, national & international producers/traders. Please note that stalls will be allocated based on application.

Additional information to be sent upon acceptance to Bia Lover 2018:
  • Photographs of your food stall. (Please email photos in jpg or png format)
  • Insurance Policy Copy (Public Liability, Employers Liability, Product Liability)
  • Organic Certification (where relevant)

The criteria that each trader must meet and sign up to before being considered for the food market are as follows:

  1. Traders must be set up and ready to trade by 10:00am on both days and must remain in place until 6:00pm.
  2. Traders must have ALL vehicles removed from site by 9:00am.
  3. All certs must be received with application - insurance (€6.5 million public liability), organic certification (where relevant) and appropriate HSE approval for market sales.
  4. As per Bia Lovers Waste Policy, all traders are responsible for the safe removal of their own waste.
  5. No products in glass packaging may be sold for on-site consumption.
  6. Traders must comply with all relevant food, health, safety and fire regulations.
  7. Traders must produce, or add value to, everything they are selling.
  8. Traders must supply their own cooking and refrigeration equipment along with utensils and packaging if required.
  9. Cooking cannot be permitted in structures supplied by Bia Lover.
  10. Stalls must be manned by someone familiar with the products on sale.
  11. Regarding Electricity:
    • All electrical appliances MUST be connected solely to generators supplied by Bia Lover.
    • Electrical appliances to be used MUST be specified on the application form.
    • Bia Lover cannot guarantee an electrical connection if it is not pre-booked.
    • Traders must supply their own cable for connection.
    • Traders are responsible for PET Certification of all appliances.
  12. Regarding Gas:
    • The installation of supply pipework from gas storage cylinders/appliances must be carried out in accordance with the appropriate recognized standards.
    • The gas connections must be certified (by connections we mean any and all pipework and connections in the gas system).
    • Gas supplies must be in a gas cage and not accessible to the public.
    • Ready access to the gas must be available to staff members and members of the emergency services to enable them to shut off the gas supply in the case of fire.
  13. Space will be allocated by the organisers in the overall best interest of the event.
  14. We aim to create a real market feel and with this in mind we reserve the right to restrict the number of stallholders in a particular product category in order to ensure that a wide variety of food is on offer.
  15. All decisions regarding participation at the food market are entirely at the discretion of the organisers.
  16. No Tea or Coffee to be sold, except by the organisers.
